HealthGuardAI is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose anything

The five HealthGuardAI apps describe and track. They do not diagnose, they do not screen for any disease, and they do not treat, cure or prevent any condition. They are not medical devices, they are not CE-marked, they are not FDA-cleared, and they are not registered as medical devices in any jurisdiction.

Nothing an app shows you is a medical opinion, and no result from any app should be used to decide whether to seek care, delay care, start or stop a treatment, or change a medication. If you have a health concern, see a qualified healthcare professional. A reassuring result from an app is not a reason to wait.

The short versionWhat these apps are, and what they are not

What they are

  • A way to record something and see how it changes over weeks and months
  • A prompt to pay attention, and a reminder to re-check
  • Plain-language explanations of terms you might otherwise have to look up
  • A record you can show a clinician, so the conversation starts with evidence

What they are not

  • A diagnosis, a second opinion, or a triage decision
  • A screening test for cancer or any other disease
  • A substitute for examination, imaging, or laboratory testing
  • A reason to postpone seeing a doctor about something that worries you

In an emergencyDo not use an app — get help now

These apps are not monitored, they are not a crisis service, and no one reads what you enter. If you or someone else is in danger, contact emergency services directly.

Per appWhat each app can and cannot tell you

🔬 SkinGuardAI — skin and mole records

The analysis uses a general-purpose AI vision model (Google Gemini) prompted with the ABCDE criteria. It is not a model trained or clinically validated for dermatology, and it has not been tested against biopsy outcomes. It is a structured way to describe a photograph and compare it with an older photograph of the same spot.

It is not a skin-cancer screening test. A low-concern result does not mean a lesion is benign, and it is not clearance to leave something alone. Photographs also miss what a dermatologist would find with dermoscopy and with their hands. Anything new, changing, bleeding, itching, non-healing, or simply different from your other spots should be shown to a doctor regardless of what the app said.

💪 FitGuardAI — workout form

Pose estimation from a camera gives general movement cues. It does not know your injuries, your joints, your medical history or your training load, and camera angle, clothing and lighting all change what it sees. It is not physiotherapy and not a personal trainer. Stop if a movement hurts, and get advice before training through pain.

🏥 RehabGuardAI — rehabilitation

Guidance and range-of-motion tracking to support a recovery programme — not to replace one. If a clinician has prescribed a rehab programme, follow theirs. Do not use the app to decide that you are ready to return to sport, to work, or to load a healing injury.

🥬 MealGuardAI — meals and nutrition

Recipe and nutrition suggestions, not clinical dietetics. Nutrition figures are estimates. Ingredient and allergen recognition can be wrong or incomplete, so never rely on it to keep yourself safe from an allergen. Always read the actual product label. If you have a medically managed diet — diabetes, kidney disease, coeliac disease, an eating disorder, pregnancy — talk to your doctor or dietitian before changing what you eat.

🧠 MindGuardAI — mood journal

A private place to record how you feel and notice patterns over time. It is not therapy, not a mental-health assessment, not a diagnosis, and not a crisis service. It cannot tell you whether you have a condition, and it must never be used to decide anything about psychiatric medication.

WhyThe limits of the AI itself

Being specific about this is more useful than a warning label, so:

PleaseSee a professional when it matters

Use the apps to notice things and to keep a record. Use a clinician to interpret them. Seek medical advice promptly — whatever any app has told you — if you notice a mole or skin lesion that is new, changing, asymmetric, irregularly bordered, multi-coloured, growing, itching, bleeding or not healing; pain that is new, severe or worsening; unexplained weight loss; a lump; persistent fatigue; any symptom that is getting worse rather than better; or any change in mood, thinking or behaviour that is frightening you or the people around you.

Bringing your records with you helps. A dated series of photographs, or a few months of mood entries, is genuinely useful to a clinician — that is the best thing these apps do.
